General
The Catalina 36 is an iconic cruiser. This boat has never been in salt water, just fresh water. The Mark I model has a walk-through transom that is just right for swimming or getting in and out of your dinghy. In addition to the typical dodger and bimini, a full enclosure allows you to extend your season into the Spring and Fall. The tall-rig mast sports a UK Tapedrive mainsail and a 150% genoa on a Harken roller furler. Many pieces of deck hardware have been upgraded to "tougher-than-nails" Garhaur equipment designed to make sailing easier and safer. If the wind should fail to cooperate, the Universal M-35 diesel will get you where you want to go at 6-7 knots easily.
Downstairs you will find accommodations that make your sailing and cruising comfortable. The recent change from CNG to propane means that finding fuel for cooking just got easier. Most light fixtures have been changed for LED fixtures; the drain on your batteries is now significantly reduced. A flat screen TV, Blue-ray player and AM/FM radio/CD player will provide entertainment whenever you choose.
