Description
ALATO is a turnkey cruising trimaran designed by Jim Brown and skillfully built in California, and launched in 1988. This is a completely updated vessel, with new wiring, new sails, new Yanmar 3YM30 engine (2012) with 150 hours, under warranty. Comfortable and very fast, ALATO keeps up with 40+ foot monohulls, and anchors in more protected waters because of shallow draft
length : 34 ft, beam: 19 ft. 6 inches, draft: 38 inches, centerboard : 7 ft. 5 inches, 47 ft bridge clearance.
The center cockpit is long enough to completely stretch out in on custom closed cell foam cushions. The dodger and bimini sytem and zip in panels keeps you dry in rough weather, and blocks the wind, or opens up in various configurations for air flow in warm weather. The current owner has been upgrading the boat since 2006 to accomodate their own cruising needs.
Two comfortable bunks, one double and one slightly smaller with firm foam mattresses. New cushions with sunbrella fabric covering for sterncastle table seating. Sterncastle table retracts and pulls out. Lots of storage inside the boat and in dry amas or outside hulls. Roller bar to easily haul dinghy and engine aboard with large jib winch. Great deck space for suiting up to go diving. The boat has been sailed throughout the Bahamas each winter for 4-5 months and is then hauled, blocked and covered in the center of Florida.
The value of upgrades far exceeds the asking price, and this is a great island cruiser, and a bluewater boat.
